Snuggle Books

Snuggle books will not make it home this week.  Unfortunately, I was unable to work on them today as I was in my other classroom and I will be away tomorrow at the Board office.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

Popcorn Words & Snuggle Books

This week, SK parents should have found a list of the kindergarten high frequency words AKA Popcorn Words! These words often "pop" up in the stories we read. Every week we focus on 2 new words and practice them by chanting them, stretching them out and searching for them in sentences on the smart board. Although we haven't studied them all as of yet, parents and children are still encouraged to be word detectives and search for them while reading. JK students participate in the practicing of these words as well 😀!!  Although it's not an expectation, parents who are in interested in having a copy of the popcorn words for their child's Snuggle Bag can jot a note in the Communication Book.

I hope you are enjoying the reading program at home and that your child finds it motivating. Many students are more than half way to 100 books!!! Remember you can include any book you read from home.

St Gabriel's last movie night

Beaver Pond Walk postponed

Thank you to all who volunteered for our walk to the Beaver Pond. Due to weather we are going to postpone our walk until we are back from the March Break.

Volunteers Needed

Hello Everyone, 

Ms Val and I would like to take the kinders on a walk to the Beaver Pond on Wednesday. We would be leaving about 9:30 and plan to arrive back about 11:00. To keep a 1:5 ratio, we need atleast 5 volunteers. If you can join please email or write a note in your child's communication book.

3-D Shapes

The Kinders are learning about three-dimensional figures, such as the cube, cone, cylinder, pyramid, rectangular prism and rectangular prism. To help us learn more about each figure (faces, edges, vertices) we are looking for everyday examples of 3-D shapes. If you have any household items that resemble the 3-D shapes we are learning about, we would love to use them for future sorting, comparing and building activities.
